Kratom is a plant originating from Southeast Asia. For hundreds of years, kratom has been part of the culture and life of the indigenous people of Southeast Asia. This plant grows in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. Kratom has the Latin name Mitragyna Speciosa. Kratom also has other names in several Southeast Asian countries including ketum, curse, or biak-biak in Malaysia, kratom, kadam, or ithang in Thailand, purik or ketum in West Kalimantan, kedamba or kedemba in East Kalimantan, and sapat or sepat in Central and South Kalimantan.
